2023 Men’s Club Championship

Congratulations to Stan Turner who pulled out all the stops in this morning’s final two games, claiming the Men’s Singles Club Champion title for a second year in a row.

To do so he had to play Vern Coulter (the 2021 Men’s Champion) in today’s final game, having won his first game with Bob Mack. Stan’s next goal is to tie Larry Ridenour by winning Men’s Singles for 3 consecutive years. Larry was Club Champion 2010 through to 2012, plus an additional 3 times since that winning streak, for a total of six years in recent history.  There were many spectators on hand to see who was going to be this years champion.

Thank you to today’s markers, Garry Stronach, Bernice Urbaniak (who had to do a LOT of measures in the Stan vs Vern match) and Susan Metivier. Also thank you to Mike Skinner who came today as one of the finalists, but ended up having to roll the green before the tournament could start! Final standings: 1st Stan Turner, 2nd Vern Coulter, 3rd Mike Skinner, 4th Bob Mack
