Fourteen novices competed in the Mann Park two-day novice championship held July 31 and August 1.

A very good time was had by all with Bryan Prentice and Linda Higgins playing off for first place. Linda defeated Bryan Prentice in a close match with the victory decided on the final end. 

Gaston Essiambre and John Higgins were the two runners up.

A special thanks to Sharron Lyons, Gail Bicknell, Helen Brinton, Tony Numans, Ken Cronin and Gerry Potter for acting as Spotters for the event.
