August 6, fun day when…

Mann Park members bowl for a BC charity

No fee to enter or for brunch.  We ask for donations to

Canuck Place Children’s Hospice

Canuck Place offers hospice care for sick children.  The society gives free support to bereaved families regardless of how children were lost to them.  This is a BC organization that relies totally on donations and does not pass cost of care on to families.

The players on the Canuck hockey team are active participants and supporters of the charity and are often at Canuck place, especially on special occasions, working and playing with the children in the hospice.

The demand for care is such that after twenty years Canuck Place intends to build two more hospices, one in Abbotsford and one Prince George.  We hope that Mann Park Bowling Club will support this is a BC charity on BC Day.

Donations envelopes are available in the club house but the main purpose of these are to enable members to read about the charity and how it operates.  We would like all donations to go to BC Place, through Mann Park courier service, after the event, so that we can have a total donation amount made by club members.

All donations should be in a sealed envelope (Canuck Place envelope or other) so that individual donations remain private.  Canuck Place staff were really fast giving out receipts last year.
